Driving through the night has it's advantages! We wanted to avoid as much traffic as possible so we rolled into Washington, D.C. in the early morning hours to discover we had the whole city to ourselves and few other adventurous tourists. Travel photography at night is a lot different than the day time hours but we were up for a challenge. We walked up to the Washington Monument and could see a beautiful cityscape from a higher vantage point and it was awesome. We only had an hour to stop so we also drove around to see some more sites like The White House (but the lights were off), the Lincoln Memorial, and a bunch other Washington, D.C. landmarks.
